TODAY AND TOMORROW is a charity organisation set up in 2009 by celebrity Hairdresser and Beauty Therapist Janet Ginnings, herself once a single mother, to support single parents and their children in marginalised areas. The aim is to encourage underprivileged single parents to break out of the mould of dependency by training them in work ethic, and providing life skills to enable them to integrate into society, thereby giving them a chance for a better future.
JANET GINNINGS – AN INSPIRATIONAL WOMAN
It is no coincidence that Janet founded a charity that aims to help struggling single parents. Herself a single mother for many years, she knows the hardships that bringing up children on one’s own and with very little money entails.
Janet was married at the tender age of 15 through an arranged marriage in India and she was a mother at 16. After two children and by that time living in England, her marriage to an abusive husband broke up. It took her two years to confess to her family back in India that she was divorced, as it was viewed that she’d brought shame on her land-owning family. Isolated and struggling to make ends meet, and with very little formal education, Janet lived on a council estate and worked in a factory. Often with just 50p in her pocket, she was frequently faced with the choice whether to spend the pennies on lunch in the canteen or give up the bus ride and walk miles to work.
But Janet never gave up. With a strong innate sense of work ethic and Christian beliefs she worked her way through the many challenges to become the owner of a select hair & beauty salon in Mayfair, which she has subsequently let go to focus her efforts on her family and the charity.
Never having forgotten her own struggles, Janet now wants to help those in the situation she found herself many years ago. To raise money she already completed a charity climb of Ben Nevis and Mount Kilimanjaro. This is such a worthwhile charity and we would welcome your support.

“I met Janet at a T&T event, I found her story and pursuit to push forward to change the lives of those with mitigating circumstances admirable. It takes a strong woman to transform their own life, but a natural leader to transform the lives of others.
In my spare time I enjoy traveling, the arts, gastronomy, playing chess and strumming my guitar.”
